Graduate Certificate in Education for Health-Related Occupations
- Complete the Application for Admission.
- Submit official academic transcript.
- Pay the admission fee.
- Have a GPA of 3.00.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing Science or another health-related occupation.
- Have or complete at least 1000 hours of practice experience.
Master’s Degree in Science of Anesthesia
- Present evidence of full vaccination against Covid-19.
- Complete Application for Admission
- Possess a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited university
- Have a minimum average of 2.50 (B) in nursing concentration courses
- Official transcript from the university or universities where courses have been taken towards the baccalaureate in nursing degree.
- Have a current Puerto Rico Board of Nurse Examiners license as a generalist nurse.
- Copy of Good Standing of the nursing license (s)
- Evidence of active registry/currency of license
- Evidence of membership in the Puerto Rico College of Professional Nurses
- Evidence of approved course in Basic Statistics and Chemistry.
- Favorable recommendation from the admissions committee after being interviewed and evaluated.
- Payment of non-reimbursable $75.00 fee, with the application.
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a former teacher, one from employer) sent to the University by regular mail.
- Current health certificate (not older than six months from application date)
- Evidence of active health insurance.
- Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination.
- Certificate of negative criminal record.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Written analysis of a professional article (during admission interview).
- Evidence of a minimum one-year experience with hospitalized patients. Preferably in critical care settings (special units such as emergency room, surgical or cardiac intensive care units, organ transplant units).
- * The one-year experience in a Critical/Intensive Care Unit may be substituted by a certified course in the specialty area with supervised practice (evidence must be submitted for evaluation by the University).
- Evidence of approved Chemistry course.
- PUDCJBR reserves the right to evaluate the design and other documents from the Critical Care course to determine its acceptance as a substitute for experience in critical care settings.

Master’s Degree in Nursing with Specialty in Critical Care
- Present evidence of full vaccination against Covid-19.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited university.
- Have a minimum academic point average of 2.50 in the last sixty (60) academic work Credits.
- Possess permanent and current license of nurse/or general practitioner for the practice of nursing in Puerto Rico.
- Be an active member of the School of Nursing professionals in Puerto Rico.
- Have a minimum year of work experience as a general practitioner.
- Deliver two recommendation letters from the agency’s supervisory staff where you have/had the work experience/s.
- Be recommended by the Program Admissions Committee.
- Present the following documents:
- Health Certificate
- Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination
- Evidence of chickenpox vaccine
- Certificate of negative criminal record issued by the Department of the police of Puerto Rico
- Copy of permanent license and current Association
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training (CPR)

Process of Admission and Interview with the Graduate Program Admissions Committee
The Admissions Committee is formed by three official members and two ex-oficio: the Admissions Director, two faculty members from the PUDCJBR. The Program Director, Academic Dean and President will be ex-oficio members.

Once every applicant’s documents are received, committee members will initiate the evaluation of each requirement. In this way, there is an individual result for each separate one, and it will be registered in the applicants’ report in the particular criterion’s cell, in the line corresponding to the name of the applicant/candidate.

The candidate is scheduled for an interview as soon as they submit the application form and pays the non-reimbursable application fee ($75.00).

During the admission interview, the candidate will also analyze a brief article from a professional journal. Candidates should also hand in a copy of their CV to be evaluated during the interview process if they have not submitted it previously.

Candidates with the highest competitive results will be selected for admission. This guarantees that our University is conducting the proper admissions process in accordance with the goal of competitiveness and quality in admissions that we set for our University. Once the quota is completed, each admission process will have a list of a maximum of 10 alternate candidates.
